Travel ChannelInterface Design Director (8/2007 – 12/2010)
Responsibilities Include:
Creative direction for all digital products: TravelChannel.com, WorldHum.com, social media sites, games and mobile apps.
Closely involved in all levels of site planning, playing consumer/usability advocate in helping to shape the best experience.
Creation and fulfillment of all day-to-day design deliverables for TravelChannel.com.
Managed photo editors and oversaw the digital photo workflow.
Travel Channel Projects of Note:
TravelChannel.com was redesigned from the ground up for improved usability and deeper consumer engagement. The new site design led to double-digit growth in page views and page depth. Responsibilities included wrangling design agency and engineering teams to maintain the clean, usable vision for the site; coauthored the extensive functional specs; provided design for all enhancements since launch.
WorldHum.com, TravelChannel’s award-winning travel journalism blog, was completely redesigned for better organization and usability, cleaner content presentation and a more distinct brand look-and-feel. Responsibilities included delivering all design work and collaborating with the developer to ensure quality.
Design of a standalone website for Ghost Adventures Live which generated millions of page views during the seven hours the event was televised.
Creative direction for very successful “Kidnap!” Facebook game, which drove considerable traffic to TravelChannel.com.
Complete IxD and Visual Design for relaunch of Travel Channel GO iPhone app (note: still under development, not responsible for current version of app).
The Book Report NetworkDesign Director (6/2004 – 8/2007)
Worked as sole designer on freelance basis for two years prior to joining staff full-time.
Designed over 40 websites for authors.
While on staff, responsibilities included creation of all site design, art direction, proposal writing, project coordination and management of a team of programmers.
CBS.comSenior Designer (8/1999 – 12/2006)
Joined as a Junior Designer doing production design, worked up to Senior Design position in charge of Daytime and Movies/Specials.
Lead designer on major projects such as the redesign of the Daytime Television site, making it more user-centric and advertiser-friendly.
Executed upwards of one hundred website designs for individual television shows, TV movies and specials.
Covered live events such as the Daytime Emmy Awards, working the red carpet as CBS.com's photographer.
Designed motion graphics for multiple online talk shows using Final Cut Pro and Motion.

Website design and some coding for corporations and individuals. Clients include Random House Reader's Circle, Modern Library, 'wichcraft eatery and local NYC artists.
